Your Amplimesh® Security products have been designed, manufactured and installed to the highest possible standards. Please review this Product Care information to keep your Amplimesh® Security product looking and performing like new with years of trouble free operation.  Should you experience difficulties please contact your Authorised Amplimesh® Installer, who will be happy to assist.

The finishes applied to the Amplimesh® Security products are of the highest quality available and are extremely durable and weather resistant. Like all fixtures around the home, dirt, dust and atmospheric pollutants will be deposited on them over time.

Powder coated surfaces should be cleaned every six months to protect the finish. However, in areas where pollutants are more prevalent, especially in coastal or industrial regions, cleaning should be carried out every two to three months.

Cleaning Powder Coated surfaces

1. Carefully remove any loose deposits with a wet sponge.
2. Use a soft non abrasive brush or cloth and mild household detergent solution to remove dust, salt and other deposits.
3. Rinse off with clean fresh water.
4. Wipe over with an absorbent cloth chamois to prevent water marks forming.

Cleaning Insect screening

Insect screening materials can be effectively cleaned with a soft bristled brush or with the furniture brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner.

IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances should you use steel wool, scourer pads, abrasive based cleaners, scouring liquids or powders, or caustic solutions as these will cause permanent damage to the finish and void the Amplimesh Guarantee.

The locking devices incorporated in these security products require basic maintenance from time to time to ensure continued trouble free operation. This is especially important if they are not directly protected from the weather or if they are frequently cleaned. Door locks need to have their moving parts lubricated occasionally, aerosol based WD type spray lubricants are ideal.

Lubricating door locks, handles and hinge pins

1. Hold the handles down and spray into the latch bolt cavity
2. Operate a few times to spread the lubricant around the moving parts.
3. Lubricate Door handle pivots and hinge pivot pins where they fit into the lock body.

Cleaning Tracks and Brush piles

Keep tracks and brush piles free of debris by vacuuming. Do not forget to clean out any drain holes.
IMPORTANT: It is not recommended to spray lubricants directly into the key slots or onto keys. However dry graphite powder, applied sparingly is a suitable lubricant for lock cylinders.

Cleaning Chrome, Satin Chrome, Gold and Brass Finishes

Plated finishes are susceptible to tarnishing if they come into contact with moisture, wet paint, or water vapour. All plated finishes should be coated with a non-abrasive furniture or car wax, taking care not to scratch any protective finishes that are employed to protect the surface and prevent tarnishing.
